Sections and Branches
Retired Nurses section
The Nurse and Midwifery organization of Ljubljana established the Retired Nurses Section 25 years ago. Once they have finished their careers, retired nurses chose to enter and socialize in this section. Its activities are organised at regular meetings of the executive committee, which has six members who prepare professional programmes and other forms of socialising. The president of the section regularly attends sessions of the society's board of administration. The members of the Retired Nurses Section are thus informed about its discussions and resolutions and can in their way contribute to the society's activities, especially due to their rich experiences.
The section each year prepares two professional meetings whose programmes include issues put forth by the members. The professional meeting is each year accompanied by an excursion on which the members explore the natural richness of our country and visit important monuments; the pleasant socialising often ends with singing.
The members of the Retired Nurses Section can free of charge attend any lecture of regional societies and professional sections. Retired nurses are eager to keep in touch with the practice and everyday work of their active colleagues, they are also glad to witness the developments in nursing and midwifery care, which are becoming increasingly visible among the people whom they serve.

Nursing Students section
The Nurse and Midwifery organization of Ljubljana cooperates with the Nursing Students Section, which was established fifteen years ago. The section has been active within the Nurses Association of Slovenia since 1992. It has approximately 500 members.
Members are students of all university colleges for health care who are studying in the programmes of nursing or midwifery care. We advocate the integration of all universities in Slovenia and the integration of all students of nursing and midwifery care in Slovenia, as well as of all professors and local institutions taking part in the pedagogic process. The section deals with students' issues as they appear during their studies.
Each year we organise workshops of urgent medical help, the project Health Team, together with student from other health disciplines, motivational weekends, we publish an e-gazette.
