Awards of the Nurse and Midwifery Organisation of Ljubljana

The Nurse and Midwifery Organisation of Ljubljana each year confers the following awards:

  • Silver Sign,
  • Plaque “Special Achievements and Quality Work in the Practice of Nursing and Midwifery Care”,
  • Title “Honorary Member of the Organisation”,
  • Title “Supporting Member of the Organisation”.

The Silver Sign is the organisation’s highest recognition and is received by a member of the Organisation for his /her multiannual active participation in the Organisation, especially for the active involvement and contribution in the preservation and development of the cultural and historical heritage of nurses and midwives; the promotion of the cultural, professional, educational, research, social and sports activities of its members, establishing contacts between members and other organisations, and the strengthening of the role and importance of the work of nurses, midwives and nurse assistants in the Slovenian and international space.

The Silver Sign award is made from silver and depicts the sign of the Organisation – a square, extended to the right with the logo of the inscription. The basic figure in the symbol is a hand with the placed logo.

The Plaque is a written acknowledgment to a member of the Organisation for special achievements and / or quality implementation of nursing and midwifery care in practice, and a humane attitude towards patients and colleagues.

The title of an Honorary Member is received by a person who is not a member of the Organisation, but has significantly contributed to the work and development of the Organisation with his / her personal contribution. The decision to award the title Honorary Member of the Organisation is adopted by the Management Board on the basis of the proposal made by the Executive Board of the Organisation. The title Honorary Member is awarded with a plaque.

An Honorary Member enjoys the rights as a regular member of the Organisation with the exception of active and passive voting rights.

The title of a Supporting Member is received by a natural or legal person who is not a member of the Organisation, but has significantly contributed to the work of the Organisation or the implementation of an important activity of the Organisation with a material or non-material contribution. The decision to award the title Supporting Member of the Organisation is adopted by the Management Board on the basis of the proposal made by the Executive Board of the Organisation. The title Supporting Member is awarded with a plaque.

The Organisation presents the awards at a regular professional meeting of the Organisation on the 27th of November or on another occasion. Awards are given by the President of the Organisation.
